Audiobook Proofreading

A great audiobook should never pull listeners out of the story.

It should feel immersive, natural and effortless to listen to.

When proofreading audiobooks, I listen carefully for anything that might interrupt the listening experience.

This includes:

  • slips of the tongue,

  • repetitions,

  • incorrect intonation,

  • distracting background noises,

  • editing mistakes,

  • inconsistencies with the script,

  • and other issues that affect flow and immersion.

Because even small distractions can break the atmosphere of a story.

Standard Audiobook Proofreading

I document all detected issues with detailed timecodes in a spreadsheet, making revisions easier and more efficient.

This version includes both technical and linguistic inconsistencies.

Audiobook Proofreading “Light”

The light version focuses primarily on:

  • repetitions,

  • slips of the tongue,

  • major background noises,

  • and deviations from the script.

So listeners can fully immerse themselves in your story — without being distracted by avoidable errors.
